Keep Your Home Warm This Winter

Busy Lizzie @

I don’t know about you, but I’m not a big fan of the cold and these wintery months seem like a constant onslaught of chilly weather and a struggle to keep warm, which is why I’m always doing everything in my power to stay warm both in and out of the house.

When I have to brave the cold outside, I’ll wrap up in everything I can get my hands on. A big woolly jumper, bobble hat, scarf, gloves and a nice and snug winter coat. But when it comes to taking the edge off inside the house (especially when Ady won’t put more money in the metre), there’s a few items dotted around my house that help to keep it (and me) warmer when the chill kicks in.

Hug Rug Runners

A new runner will not only help to transform your interiors by providing a splash of colour and a dash of style but it’ll help to keep your house a tad bit warmer and at the same time, your tootsies too!

A Hug Rug Runner will help to insulate your floor (especially those of you with wooden or tiled floors) by trapping the heat, helping you to avoid cold feet when you go to make your morning cuppa.

With lots of colourful designs to choose from, you’re sure to find something that will look lovely in your home. Whether you’re after a touch of the contemporary with our Stripe 85 runner, a design inspired by mother nature with our Nature 25 range or you’re looking to bring the British countryside into your home with our Highland 1 design (one of my personal faves).

Rugs

Before they became a great way to update your space, rugs were strictly designed to help keep your home warm. There was no thought put into fancy designs or ensuring they felt luxurious. However in the present day, that’s all changed and here at Hug at Home our fantastic designers are always coming up with new creations that help to keep your home warm and they look great too! Plus, all our rugs are either made from natural materials or are sustainably sourced, so are kind to mother nature as well.

If you’re looking for something with a timeless feel, then our traditional style rugs are ideal and they look fantastic in any home. Our luxurious 100% natural New Zealand long haired sheepskin wool rugs are perfect if you’re looking for something that’s extra snuggly and warm. Our pure wool rugs are both stylish and super comfy, whilst our range of rugs that are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles are so soft that you honestly won’t believe that they aren’t wool, they certainly fooled me!

Woven Throws

Whilst a nice snuggly throw won’t help your house to be warmer, it’ll certainly keep you nice and toasty! These are just perfect for those winter nights cosied up in front of the telly. I’ve got several in my living room!

What makes these gorgeous throws even better is that they’re made from 100% recycled plastic. So you’ll be lovely and warm and all the while, snuggled up safe in the knowledge that you’ve helped the environment.

Sense Mats

If you’re after a touch of contemporary alongside ease of use, then our Sense range is the ideal choice for you. Not only do they look fabulous, but with their stain resistant properties, they can handle all that life throws at them.

Muddy paws and messy stains are no problem as you can simply pop them in the washing machine and they’ll be back out looking as good as new in no time. Plus with their super soft feel underfoot and insulative properties, they’re another great choice if you’re looking to keep your home warmer this winter.

We even have a specially designed Sense range which is ideal for the bathroom too. They’re luxurious, super soft and are perfect for soaking up any spills. Also, they feel lovely when you get out of the bath after a long soak.

Pet Beds

As you all know, my gorgeous pug Bob is one of my greatest loves and I couldn’t stand to be nice and warm whilst he feels chilly, so I got him a nice new pet bed recently, which he absolutely loves! When he’s all tired out after a long wintery walk, he heads straight for it, especially with its prime place in front of the radiator. I love that I can quickly remove the cover too whenever Bob’s a mucky pup and it needs a wash.

So as you can see, there’s plenty of lovely items to help keep both you and your house warmer this winter. I’m off for a long soak and a night in front of the telly all snuggled up with Bob (and a glass of red wine).
