The Wash Test
Busy Lizzie @
We’ve always said our Hug Rugs are washable and that they’ll clean up even with really muddy boots and paw prints but what we’d like you to consider is how and what you wash them with. I’ve done my research and have found an amazing eco-friendly brand called smol. I gave them a call and asked them if they would be kind enough to send me some non-bio laundry tablets (because I wouldn’t tell you to use something I’ve not tested myself) and they did - thanks so much smol!
smol offer a subscription-based service that sends your laundry and dishwasher tabs directly to you so you never have to worry about running out which is super convenient. The little packs are so small they fit right through your letterbox. I quite often forget to pick up laundry detergent at the supermarket (sorry to the girls sat next to me in the office), so a subscription service is perfect!
As you all know here at Hug At Home we always aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible and so do smol! Their packaging is plastic free and recyclable (music to my ears). They also use lower levels of chemicals per wash than other capsule brands (which means you are saving unnecessary chemicals from being washed into the waterways), but perform just as well. And the products are cruelty free and not tested on animals (even bigger music to my ears, poor bunny rabbits).
Also, when I received my laundry tablets I noticed how gorgeous they smelt. Even better to know that the essential oils used in them are all ethically sourced.
Non-bio simply means that it’s free of biological enzymes (whatever they are!) and use other ingredients and clever technology instead (don’t ask me how it all works, I leave that to the experts - smol). This means that non-bio is more suitable for sensitive skin and smol’s non-bio capsules are dermatologically tested. smol's non-bio capsules produce amazing results when used at lower temperatures (30-40°C), which is better for the environment.
Of course it did!
I was super happy with the results and have already put my subscription order in! If you're still skeptical (you shouldn't be) you can get a free trial of smol here (you can thank me later!)
