Caring for your Sculptured Washable Rug
Please follow the instructions below when caring for your Hug Rug Sculptured Washable Rug. Only wash the Hug Rug when necessary.
VACUUMING:
You can shake the rug outside to get rid of most debris before vacuuming. We would recommend the use of a suction vacuum cleaner to help ensure that the pile of the rug isn't damaged. It is always useful to rotate your rug on a regular basis to even out the wear of the rug.
SPILLS & STAINS:
Our Sculptured Washable Rugs are stain resistant, but any spills should be dealt with as they happen to prevent permanent stains on your rug. Follow the below steps for the best way to treat the spill:
- Blot up excess with a clean cloth or paper towel to dilute the stain.
- Lift up the rug to check the spill hasn't leaked through.
- Follow with a liquid soap on a wet cloth.
- Scrub until the stain lifts.
- Line dry your rug.
- You can also machine wash at 30°C for those tougher/bigger spills.
WASHING:
- To give the rug a longer life place it in a cotton pillow case, machine wash on a quick cotton wash at 30ºC with drum at a low spin speed.
- Remove any excess debris before washing as best as possible by brushing/hoovering your rug.
- Do not use fabric conditioner as this will reduce the effect of its performance.
- Never place on a damp floor.
- Never place in the tumble dryer on high heat setting for a long period of time.
- Leaving a steam cleaner on the rug for too long may cause the backing to crumple.
Our mats are designed not to leave marks, however a combination of cleaning products, sunlight & heat may affect and/or cause discolouration to certain types of flooring when covered. We would advise you to please lift the mat frequently to allow the floor under the mat to be cleaned and aired. Our backing is a natural based product free, from vinyl & PVC. For specialist flooring please check with the manufacturer before using any rubber backed mats.
