Where are Hug Rugs made?
Our Hug Rugs are manufactured in our mills in Huddersfield, right in the heart of Yorkshire! West Yorkshire has a strong history in the UK textile industry and we are proud to play our part in this. Our parent company, Phoenox Textiles, has been manufacturing rugs from our mills since 1954!
We are lucky to be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Pennines, which has inspired us to minimise our environmental impact and manufacture our products as sustainably as possible. That’s why all of our Hug Rugs are made using recycled materials.
Can you put a Hug Rug in the washing machine?
Yes, you most certainly can! We developed our Hug Rugs to be machine washable and easy to clean to be as convenient as possible. We recommend washing your Hug Rug only when necessary and following the care instructions to make sure your mat lasts as long as possible and maintains its quality.
Can Hug Rugs be cut to size?
Yes, but we recommend cutting your Hug Rug slightly larger than you want to be to account for any shrinkage during washing. Alternatively, make sure to wash your Hug Rug before you cut it. Always use a sharp blade to get a clean edge on your Hug Rug when cutting.
What flooring can I use a Hug Rug on?
Our Hug Rugs can be used on a variety of flooring such as tiled flooring, laminate flooring and carpets. You can even use your Hug Rug with under floor heating for an extra touch of cosiness! If you have Karndean flooring however, Hug Rugs are to be used at the owner's discretion. Karndean don’t recommend using rubber backed mats however if you are to use a Hug Rug on this flooring, lift your mat regularly to allow airflow beneath it.
